Literature Text

I think I’ll be a rock today,
Still,
Quiet,
Restricted,
Numb.

Rocks have no soul,
No pain,
Just a rock.
So simple
And whole.

Shiny,
Smooth,
Like marble,
Bottom of a pond,
Koi and weeds,
For company.

Little children squeal,
Drop breadcrumbs,
Don’t see me,
I blend in.

The ripples don’t move me,
I’m a rock,
Solid,
Untouchable,
Unnoticed,
I think I’ll be a rock today.
i felt like being a rock

so sue me

Sometimes I don't comment on your poems because they are so awesome, I can't think of anything to say. This is one of them. Why do you keep making me not hate free-verse non-rhyming structures? Geez!

I really like the concept, and how you've portrayed it in such a seemingly simple way, that's really complex when you think about it. Also, I like the repetition of the line "I think I'll be a rock today", especially the last time, as it seems like a decision, and is funny and cute.

You can be my rock, if you like...:blushes:
